Klagetoh
rugs are generally considered to be a sub-type of Ganado rugs. They
are similar in that they have bordered geometric designs comprised of
red and black wools, combined with the use of various shades of
natural gray wools. Klagetoh rugs will have a predominately natural
gray & red background, whereas a
Ganado rug has a predominately red background. This particular rug has
the traditional colors of red, black, white and three shades of gray. This rug fits the classic Klagetoh design and has a large, bold central diamond pattern in the center of the rug and a border consisting of four diamonds in gray and red on a red background. The rug is tightly woven and has an approximate weft count of 38 and a warp count of 10. It has very good symmetry and lies flat. |
